Albertine Hannah underestimates the power of art when she takes the photograph that changes her life. Charged with child pornography, she flees Toronto and lands in Watson, Ontario as a new person - Anne Hanes. But, erasing the past makes her a ghost with no future. It is August Killdeer, a half-Ojibwe photographer that awakens Albertine's desire to reclaim her life. But, first she must make sense of the facts and fiction of her life.
