As For Me and My House is one of the great novels of this country, and its first edition is one of the rarest in Canada. Although first published in the US in 1941, it was not until the first Canadian edition in 1957 that it became recognized as a 20th century classic.
Set on the prairies during the Depression, it centres on a man and a woman who long to escape from the monotony and the physical and cultural limitations of their lives in a small prairie town. The now famous story of Philip Bentley, a minister and frustrated artist, as told through the diaries of his wife, is a masterpiece of simplicity in theme and style.
The 250 copies of the limited special edition are numbered and signed by the author. Printed on fine quality paper, the book is bound in linen over board and is presented in a linen-bound slipcase.
